Description
Founded in 2002, Chakana’s grapes are grown on their own estates, situated in diverse, premium, micro regions of Mendoza and with each estate contributing a special character to the final blend of Chakana’s top quality wines. The Chakana winery is located south of the city of Mendoza in Agrelo, Lujan de Cuyo, which is one of the prime areas in the region for growing grapes. The 120 hectare estate is home to 40 year old Malbec, Bonarda and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as to younger vines which have been planted since 2002. In the winery small tank sizes have been chosen to maintain the identity of the different parcels of soil, the modular design being tailored to the vineyard development. Winemaking at Chakana is based on the careful and detailed management of grapes and process control.
